Cervical spondylosis is age-related wear and tear in cervical spine that lead to neck pain, neck stiffness and other symptoms.This condition is also called arthritis or osteoarthritis of the neck.


😱Developing Risk😱

The spine likely begins this wearing-down process sometime in 30s. By age 60, almost 9 in 10 people have cervical spondylosis.


⚠️At risk⚠️

Older age is at risk factor for cervical spondylosis. In addition to age, you more likely to experience cervical spondylosis if you:

-Smoke cigarettes 

-Have one or more family members with this condition.

-Strain your neck often job, like looking overhead or download (for example, painters,plumbers or flooring installers)

-Have a previous neck injury, such as from a car accident.

-Do heavy lifting like construction workers.


🥴Symptoms🥴

-Neck pain or stiffness. This may be main symptom. 

-Pain may get worse when you move your neck.

-A nagging soreness in neck.

-Muscle spasms.

-A clicking, popping or grinding sound when you move neck.

-Dizziness.

-Headaches.


🩺Diagnosis🩺

Your healthcare provider will apply some physical tests for checking your:

-Neck flexibility.

-Muscle strength & reflexes in your hands, arms or legs.

-Reflexes.

-Gait (how you walk).

-Neck and shoulder, looking for trigger points 

-Radiology: MRI ,CT-Scan, X-ray, Electromyogram.


✅Treatment✅

-Physical therapy: Your symptoms may be relieved with specific exercises and stretches.

-Ice, heat and massage can help relieve your symptoms.

-Oral Medication.

-Neck Collar or Brace

-Injection Therapy
