Cervical spondylosis

Image
👉Cervical spondylosis 👈 Cervical spondylosis is age-related wear and tear in cervical spine that lead to neck pain, neck stiffness and other symptoms. This condition is also called arthritis or osteoarthritis of the neck. 😱Developing Risk😱 The spine likely begins this wearing-down process sometime in 30s. By age 60, almost 9 in 10 people have cervical spondylosis. ⚠️At risk⚠️ Older age is at risk factor for cervical spondylosis. In addition to age, you more likely to experience cervical spondylosis if you: -Smoke cigarettes  -Have one or more family members with this condition. -Strain your neck often job, like looking overhead or download (for example, painters, plumbers or flooring installers) -Have a previous neck injury, such as from a car accident. -Do heavy lifting like construction workers. 🥴Symptoms🥴 -Neck pain or stiffness. This may be main symptom.  -Pain may get worse when you move your neck. -A nagging soreness in neck. -Muscle spasms. -A clicking, poppin...

Shin Splint

⛑️👉 Shin Splint 👈⛑️ Shin splints (also medial tibial stress syndrome) is inflammation of muscles, tendons, and bone tissue around tibia (shin/lateral side bone).  Pain typically occurs inner border of tibia, where muscles attach to bone.  According to pain encountered in some patient so it's also named in Anterior Shin Splints and Posterior Shin Splint according to site of pain. 🤔 Causes 🤔 -Shin splints develop when muscle and bone tissue (periosteum) in leg become overworked by repetitive activity. -Shin splints occur after sudden changes in physical activity.  --These can be changes in frequency, (such as increasing the number of days you exercise each week) --Changes in duration and intensity, (such as running longer distances or on hills, can also cause shin splints.) -Having flat feet or feet with abnormal arch. -Exercising with improper or worn-out footwear -Runners are at highest risk for developing shin splints.  -Dancers and military recruits are t...

ROTATOR CUFF INJURY AND TREATMENT

ROTATOR CUFF INJURY AND TREATMENT  The rotator cuff forms a group of muscles and tendons that keep our shoulder joint stable. The rotator cuff muscles are four strong muscles usually known commonly as SITS muscles, where each of the letters in the “SITS” represents single muscle. S-Supraspinatus, I-Infraspinatus,T-Teres minor and S-Subscapularis.  Injury to any of the tendons and muscles of these causes deep dull aching pain, sometimes with weakness and reduced shoulder range of motion.  This injury is referred to us rotator cuff injury.  Generally, the injury to the tendon must heal by two to four weeks but most stubborn cases can last several months. Normally, the cause of this injury can be of one of three reasons; 📍Substantial injury to the shoulder  📍Wear and tear of the tendon tissue  📍Repetitive overhead activity or lifting of heavy loads over prolonged period may also irritate or cause damage to the tendon.  There are other risk factor...

ACL tear

ANTERIOR CRUCIATE LIGAMENT (ACL) TEAR  Diagnosis , Rehabilitation  • Main stabilizer of knee • Primary function: resisting hyperextension and anterior tibial translation in fl exion, some rotator control • Tears result from rotational twisting, pivoting, valgus motion, or hyperextension force that overcomes strength of ligaments. • Most commonly from a sudden deceleration during high-velocity movements in which a forceful contraction of the quadriceps is needed. • Can also occur with tears of meniscus or medial collateral ligament. Anatomy : • Origin: anterior base of the tibia to the postero lateral corner of the inter condylar notch of the femur Symptoms : • Sudden pain and swelling • Giving way of the knee, buckling, or locking • Audible pop • Instability of knee Physical Exam : • Inspection: acutely swollen ( first 24 h) • ROM: limited due to swelling and guarding • Sensation: intact • Provocative Maneuvers  ° Lachman test—knee flexed at 25°; forward translation...

FOOT DROP

🔴__________FOOT DROP__________🔴 ✅Foot drop, sometimes called drop foot, is a general term for difficulty lifting the front part of the foot.                                🔶Causes 1️⃣ Nerve injury. The most common cause of foot drop is compression of a nerve in your leg that controls the muscles involved in lifting the foot (peroneal nerve). This nerve can also be injured during hip or knee replacement surgery, which may cause foot drop. A nerve root injury — "pinched nerve" — in the spine can also cause foot drop. People who have diabetes are more susceptible to nerve disorders, which are associated with foot drop. 2️⃣ Muscle or nerve disorders. Various forms of muscular dystrophy, an inherited disease that causes progressive muscle weakness, can contribute to foot drop. So can other disorders, such as polio or Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease. 3️⃣ Brain and spinal cord disorders.  Disorders that a...
